William Mills, born on 1 July 1821 at Toongabbie, married at Prospect in 1843, Elizabeth Tuckwell, the daughter of George Tuckwell and Esther née Beckett. William and Elizabeth then moved to the Yass area where William worked from 1845 to 1847 as a labourer on a property called 'Bendenine'. William subsequently acquired his own land at Wargeila, also near Yass, and became a farmer/grazier. William Mills died 19 January 1891 in Yass.
